Lillianne Dent Bowersock is a native West Virginian born in Boston, MA. She holds a Master's Degree from Marshall University,
Huntington, WV in Special Education with an emphasis on Gifted Education. She has studied with some of the most established watercolor artists in the US, such as Margaret Greene Jones, Joe Mayer, Annapolis, MD; and Frederick Schuler Briggs, Baltimore,
MD. Lillianne's husband, Bruce, has also been one of her best teachers. Even though she has taught Special Education for 25 years, she discovered her avocation in 1994 when she began studying and painting in watercolor. Her paintings and are owned by
private collectors and in private collections throughout the United States, England, and Scotland.
Lillianne teaches watercolor painting classes at the ARTS RESOURCE facility in Huntington, West Virginia; the local Michaels Arts and Crafts Store,
and Louisa, Kentucky. Her students in watercolor painting appreciate her strong organizational skills as a teacher and are award-winning painters themselves in the Tri State region. She assists her husband, Bruce, in teaching several regional workshops
every year and also teaches individuals in her studio.
Lillianne holds juried status in the following: West Virginia Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of West Virginia, Tri State Arts Association, Huntington, WV; Beckley Art Group, Beckley, WV;
Huntington Museum of Art, Huntington, WV; Baltimore Watercolor Society, Ashland Area Art Gallery, Ashland, KY, Founding Member of the Upstairs Gallery, also in Ashland; and Founding Member of The Renaissance Gallery in Huntington WV. Lillianne has been
President of Tri State Arts Association since 2001.
